==Geography==
Lincolnia is located in eastern Fairfax County at {{coord|38|49|5|N|77|8|35|W| region:US-VA_type:city}} (38.8184, -77.1433).<ref name="GR1">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|accessdate=2011-04-23|date=2011-02-12|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}}</ref> It is bordered to the east by the city of [[Alexandria, Virginia|Alexandria]], to the south by [[Franconia, Virginia|Franconia]], to the southwest by [[Springfield, Virginia|Springfield]], to the west by [[Annandale, Virginia|Annandale]], to the northwest by [[Lake Barcroft, Virginia|Lake Barcroft]], and to the northeast by [[Bailey's Crossroads, Virginia|Bailey's Crossroads]]. [[Interstate 395 (District of Columbia–Virginia)|Interstate 395]] passes through the southern part of the CDP, with access from Exit 2 (Edsall Road), and [[Virginia State Route 236]] (Little River Turnpike) passes through the center of the CDP. I-395 leads northeast {{convert|10|mi|0}} into the [[District of Columbia]], while VA 236 leads east {{convert|6|mi|0}} to [[Old Town Alexandria]] and west {{convert|8|mi|0}} to [[Fairfax, Virginia|Fairfax]].

The CDP border follows [[Virginia State Route 244|Columbia Pike]] and [[Holmes Run]] to the north, its border with the city of Alexandria to the east, Interstate 395, [[Interstate 495 (Capital Beltway)|Interstate 495]], and the VRE [[Fredericksburg Line]] to the south, and [[Virginia State Route 648|Edsall Road]], Clifton Street, [[Virginia State Route 620 (Fairfax and Loudoun Counties)|Braddock Road]], and [[Virginia State Route 236|Little River Turnpike]] to the west.<ref>{{cite web |url=https://tigerweb.geo.census.gov/tigerweb/ |website=TIGER Web Viewer |title=TIGERweb |publisher=United States Census Bureau |accessdate=14 December 2019}}</ref>
