==Early life== Lamont Waltman Marvin Jr. was born in New York City to Lamont Waltman Marvin β a [[World War I]] veteran of the [[USACE|Army Corps of Engineers]] and an advertising executive β and Courtenay Washington (nΓ©e Davidge), a fashion writer. Confederate General [[Robert E.
