== History == The village of Kenmore was incorporated in 1899<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.villageofkenmore.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=59&Itemid=67|title=History (Kenmore)|access-date=March 25, 2009}}</ref>{{better source needed|date=January 2023}} from part of the town of Tonawanda. It is known as "[[Buffalo, New York|Buffalo]]'s First Suburb".<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.visitbuffaloniagara.com/neighborhood/kenmore/|title=Kenmore: Buffalo's First Suburb|access-date=May 4, 2020}}</ref>{{Failed verification|date=January 2023}} Louis Eberhardt, known as the "father of Kenmore",{{citation needed|date=January 2023}} opposed naming the village "Eberhardt" after himself.{{citation needed|date=January 2023}} He was responsible for buying farmland and subdividing the property into a suburban development. The building which is portrayed on the village logo is the [[Eberhardt Mansion]], located at the corner of Delaware Avenue and Kenmore Avenue. It was listed on the [[National Register of Historic Places]] in 1983.<ref name="nris">{{NRISref|version=2010a}}</ref> The Kenmore Village Hall was listed in 2013 as the [[Tonawanda Municipal Building]].<ref name="nps">{{cite web|url=http://www.nps.gov/nr/listings/20130621.htm|title=National Register of Historic Places Listings|date=June 21, 2013|work=Weekly List of Actions Taken on Properties: 6/10/13 through 6/14/13|publisher=National Park Service}}</ref>
