==Early life==

The album contained lyrics that relied heavily on [[pun]]s and word play, which Linnell appreciated. Here, he worked on the school newspaper, the ''Promethean'', and met [[John Flansburgh]]. The two occasionally collaborated on home-recording projects.<ref name="gigantic" />
