[[First Kings]] treats him more briefly: 1 Kings 15:24<ref>''Bible'' {{bibleverse|1|Kings|15:24|NKJV}}</ref> mentions him as successor to Asa, and 1 Kings 22:1β50<ref>''Bible'' {{bibleverse|1|Kings|22:1β50|NKJV}}</ref> summarizes the events of his life.
