The modern name in [[Urdu]] is ''Sindh'' ({{Langx|ur|{{unq|سندھ}}}}) or ''Daryā-i-Sindh'' ({{Langx|ur|{{unq|دریائے سندھ}}|4=The River Sindh}}), contrasting to the [[Province of Sindh]] ({{langx|ur|{{unq|صوبہِ سندھ}}|translit=Sūba-i-sindh}}).
