Tingley, Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology, [[University of Nevada, Reno]], 1989, retrieved June 11, 2010</ref> and the [[England|English]] Groome Lead Mines Limited company financed the Conception Mines in the 1870s, giving the district its name (nearby mines included Maria, Willow and White Lake). The mining claims in Groom were acquired by J. B.
