==Etymology==
The name Gabriel ([[Hebrew language|Hebrew:]] גַּבְרִיאֵל, ''Gaḇrīʾēl'') is composed of the first person singular possessive form of the Hebrew noun ''gever'' (גֶּבֶר), meaning "man", and ''[[El (deity)|ʾĒl]]'', meaning "God".
