The English Wikipedia currently has [[Special:Statistics|{{NUMBEROFUSERS}}]]<ref>This number is dynamically updated with the [[WP:MAGIC|magic word]] NUMBEROFUSERS</ref> [[Wikipedia:Why create an account?|users]] who have registered a username, but only about 30% of those have ever edited Wikipedia (about {{#expr: {{formatnum:{{NUMBEROFUSERS}}|R}} * .30 / 1e6 round 0}} million). Only a minority of users contribute regularly ([[Special:Statistics|{{NUMBEROFACTIVEUSERS}}]]<ref>This number is dynamically updated with the [[WP:MAGIC|magic word]] NUMBEROFACTIVEUSERS</ref> have edited in the last 30 days), and only a minority of those contributors participate in [[Wikipedia:Dashboard|community discussions]].

An unknown but relatively large number of [[Wikipedia:IPs are human too|unregistered Wikipedians]] also contribute to the site. As of February 2015, when about 12,000 editors were eligible to vote in the [[:meta:Stewards/Elections 2015|Wikimedia Stewards Elections]], their eligibility was based on their English Wikipedia edit count. It applied to those who had an edit count of at least 600 overall and 50 since August 2014. This was about one-quarter of the number of Wikipedians who had 600 edits overall.
