Most of the county by area has a [[humid continental climate]] (''Dfa'' except for some ''Dfb'' in highlands.) The inclusion of temperature numbers for the past decade shows some lower-lying areas, including Harrisburg, to have a [[humid subtropical climate]] (''Cfa''.)
