U.S. Routes [[U.S. Route 19 in Florida|19]] and [[U.S. Route 98 in Florida|98]] pass through the center of the city, leading south {{convert|7|mi|0}} to [[Homosassa Springs, Florida|Homosassa Springs]] and north {{convert|46|mi}} to [[Chiefland, Florida|Chiefland]]. [[Florida State Road 44|State Road 44]] leads east from Crystal River {{convert|17|mi}} to [[Inverness, Florida|Inverness]], the Citrus County seat. According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the city of Crystal River has a total area of {{convert|17.7|km2|order=flip}}, of which {{convert|16.0|km2|order=flip}} is land and {{convert|1.7|km2|order=flip}} 9.35% is water.
