==Geography==
According to the [[U.S. Census Bureau]], the county has a total area of {{convert|557|sqmi}}, of which {{convert|544|sqmi}} is land and {{convert|12|sqmi}} (2.2%) is water.<ref name="GR1">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|access-date=April 23, 2011|date=February 12, 2011|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}}</ref> It is located in [[Southwest Georgia]].

Most of the western portion of Colquitt County, west of [[Moultrie, Georgia|Moultrie]] and [[Georgia State Route 33|State Route 33]], is located in the Upper [[Ochlockonee River]] sub-basin of the larger Ochlockonee River basin, with the exception of the very northwestern corner of the county, between [[Sale City, Georgia|Sale City]] and west of [[Doerun, Georgia|Doerun]], which is located in the Lower [[Flint River (Georgia)|Flint River]] sub-basin of the [[ACF River Basin]] (Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint River Basin). A narrow central portion of Colquitt County, running from north to south of Moultrie, and then widening to occupy the gap between [[U.S. Route 319 in Georgia|U.S. Route 319]] and [[Georgia State Route 133|State Route 133]], is located in the [[Withlacoochee River (Suwannee River)|Withlacoochee River]] sub-basin of the [[Suwannee River]] basin.
