It is bordered to the east by the city of [[Chignik, Alaska|Chignik]].

In 2009 the [[United States Marine Corps|Marines]] of [[4th Combat Engineer Battalion]], [[4th Marine Division (United States)|4th Marine Division]], began work on an inter-village road system to link Chignik Lake to Chignik Lagoon.<ref>Sgt.
