==Early life and education== Chester Gould was born to Gilbert R. Over the next few years he entered various contests and enrolled in a correspondence course in drawing.<ref name="okpedia" /> While still a senior in high school, he was discovered by the [[yearbook]] staff at [[Oklahoma State University–Stillwater|Oklahoma A&M University]] and was hired to make line drawings for the 1918 and 1919 editions.<ref name="okmag" />
