==Geography== Calcium is located in central Jefferson County at {{Coord|44.034761|-75.842114|type:city_region:US|format=dms|display=inline}},<ref name="GR1">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|accessdate=2011-04-23|date=2011-02-12|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}}</ref> in the western part of the town of Le Ray. It is bordered on the east by the developed part of [[Fort Drum]]. The hamlet of Calcium is in the southern part of the CDP, east of [[U.S. Route 11 in New York|U.S. Route 11]], while Sanfords Four Corners is in the central part of the CDP along [[New York State Route 342]] east of US-11. Route 11 leads southwest {{convert|5|mi|0}} into [[Watertown (city), New York|Watertown]], the Jefferson [[county seat]], and northeast {{convert|31|mi}} to [[Gouverneur (village), New York|Gouverneur]]. Route 342 leads east along the south edge of Fort Drum {{convert|2.5|mi}} to [[Black River, New York|Black River]] and west {{convert|4.5|mi}} to [[Interstate 81]]. [[Interstate 781]] runs through the northern part of the Calcium CDP, connecting to the east with Iraqi Freedom Drive into Fort Drum and leading west {{convert|4|mi|0}} to I-81. According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], Calcium CDP has a total area of {{convert|14.4|km2|order=flip}}, of which {{convert|4035|sqm|acre|order=flip|1}}, or 0.03%, are water.<ref name="Census 2010"/>
