== History == Bonita Springs' history dates back approximately 8,000 years, with evidence of early inhabitants including the Calusa Indians.<ref name="the-history-of-bonita-springs">{{cite web |title=The History Of Bonita Springs |url=https://bonitanationalcc.com/the-history-of-bonita-springs/ |access-date=15 May 2024 |website=Bonita National Golf And Country Club}}</ref> In the 1870s, the US Army Corps of Engineers surveyed the area, establishing a camp along what is now the Imperial River.
