==Early life and education== Delanoë was born 30 May 1950 in [[Tunis]], at that time a [[French protectorate of Tunisia|protectorate]] of the [[French colonial empire]], to a French mother and a [[Pied-Noir|French-Tunisian]] father. His father, a [[Surveying|land surveyor]], was atheist while his mother, a nurse, was [[Catholic Church|Roman Catholic]].<ref name="Le Parisien">{{Cite web |title=Elections Municipales 2026 : actualité de la campagne et résultats |url=https://www.leparisien.fr/elections/municipales/ |access-date=2023-08-13 |website=leparisien.fr |language=fr-FR}}</ref> At 6 years old, Delanoë became a member of the "Petits Chanteurs des Sables", a Christian choral group associated with the [[Little Singers of the Wooden Cross|Petits Chanteurs à la Croix de Bois]].
