==Geography==
Avon is located in central Lebanon County at {{coord|40|20|45|N|76|23|12|W|region:US_type:city}} (40.345923, -76.386756).<ref name="GR1">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|accessdate=2011-04-23|date=2011-02-12|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}}</ref> It is primarily in [[South Lebanon Township, Pennsylvania|South Lebanon Township]] but extends north slightly into [[North Lebanon Township, Pennsylvania|North Lebanon Township]]. It is bordered to the northwest by the city of [[Lebanon, Pennsylvania|Lebanon]] and to the west by the [[Hebron, Pennsylvania|Hebron]] census-designated place. The Avon census-designated place contains the communities of Avon and Avon Heights.

[[U.S. Route 422]] (East Cumberland Street) passes through Avon, leading west into the center of Lebanon and east {{convert|27|mi}} to [[Reading, Pennsylvania|Reading]]. [[Harrisburg, Pennsylvania|Harrisburg]], the state capital, is {{convert|30|mi}} to the west via US-422 and [[U.S. Route 322|US-322]].
