==Etymology==
There are several theories as to where this name comes from: {{transliteration|ar|al-mughāwir}} ({{lang|ar|المغوار}}; {{langnf|ar||the raider}}),<ref>{{Harvnb|Fancy|2016|p=58}}</ref> {{transliteration|ar|al-mukhābir}} ({{lang|ar|المخابر}}, 'the carrier of news') or {{transliteration|ar|al-mujāwir}} ({{lang|ar|المجاور}}, 'the pilgrim', as in 'adjunct [to a holy place]').
